Alpha ADM is the project management method of Alpha whose objective is knowledge transfer.
Alpha ADM Methodology is divided into three stages, consisting of:
Selection - This is the initial stage where an Alpha Pre-Sale Form is filled
compiling information provided by a Customer to help determine the basic
requirements and approach. Once the customer is convinced and a contact has been
negotiated, live demonstrations are conducted as an initial introduction to
(Alpha) features for the concerned stage.
Implementation - This involves:
Mapping - Studying the customer's business process
Simulation - Key user(s) training and acceptance of the Business
Model.
Operational - Includes end user training, data conversion and
entry
Optimization - This involves the phase during which the right method is applied
based on mutual agreement with the customer.
Project Plan and Project Setup
Objective
The objective of this milestone is to define a project plan, which is based on the global project plan. The plan concerns project objectives, scope, conditions and approach.
Hardware and Software Installation
Objective
This milestone governs the installation of hardware, network and software if no temporary hardware and software was installed during the selection phase.
Concept Training for Key Users
Objective
This milestone is intended for key users who have enough knowledge and proficiency to execute the process of business modeling. The acquisition of knowledge and proficiency can be translated as key users training in the ALPHA ERP concepts.
High Priority Customizations Specified
Objective
In the selection phase the global customizations are already defined and budgeted. In this milestone the high-priority global customizations are supplemented with the local site high-priority customizations.
Business Solution Agreed Upon
Objective
This milestone governs the validation and fine-tuning of the customer's business into a final business solution. The final solution or company model is demonstrated in a workshop and described in the blueprint.
Advanced Key Users Training
Objective
The objective of this milestone is to train key users on detailed ALPHA ERP functionality. This knowledge and proficiency is required during the rest of the project, for example: during simulation and during end user training.
Data Conversion Plan Defined
Objective
This milestone focuses on what master and what dynamic data must be converted to the new system. Based on the completeness of the currant data, tested in a first test conversion, a Data Conversion Plan is drawn up.
Data Coding Schemes Defined
Objective
This milestone governs the specification of master data and modification of the required data model.
External Interface Specifications Defined
Objective
The objective of this milestone is to define external interface requirements and specifications for the local site. The interface specification report made at corporate level (if available) must be used as a starting point.
End Users Training
Objective
The objective of this milestone is for key users to train the end users regarding modules and sessions relevant to them and to organizational aspects.
Master Data Entry and/or Conversion
Objective
This milestone is aimed at filling the system with consistent and verified master data. This can be executed manually or automatically by conversion. The conversion is described in the Conversion Plan.
Customizations Completed
Objective
The objective of this milestone is completing the customization to the standard ALPHA ERP software (except the low-priority or nice-to-have customization). With the realization of the high and medium-priority customizations the software solution gives optimum support to the company model.
External Interfaces Completed
Objective
This milestone is aimed at completing and testing all defined external interfaces. The testing activities take place at unit level and at integration level.
Information System Configured
Objective
This milestone is aimed at the implementation of the personalized menus, reports, queries and help files. Definition and approval of these personalized items take place in the milestone Application/System Management Finalized. In this milestone the information system is configured, so that the go live can start.
Company Model Ready, Operational Approved
Objective
This milestone describes the final test by means of a simulation done by end users. In addition to testing the integral information system's achievement of the predefined requirements, the knowledge and proficiency of end users is also tested.
Objective
The objective of this milestone is making the system ready to go operational by:
Finalizing all activities.
Checking all components, such as: software, hardware, network data, customization, etc.
Assuring that end users and IT management know what to do after transfer has been accomplished.
